Free printable · 2-page PDF · Updated for kitchens up to 25 doors

Cabinet Door Measuring Worksheet.

A free downloadable worksheet built for homeowners measuring their own kitchen — every cabinet door, drawer front, and end panel, to the nearest 1/16". Walk your kitchen with a tape measure, record width × height in place (no need to take doors off), note hinge positions, and send the whole sheet back to us when you’re ready to order replacement cabinet doors. Designers and refacers find it just as handy for on-site take-offs.

How to use it

Print the worksheet (or save it as a PDF and fill it on your phone), measure each door in place with a metal tape — width and height to the nearest 1/16" — and label the back of each door with masking tape so it doubles as a reference when the new doors arrive. Width × Height, always. Flipping the order is the most common DIY measuring mistake.

How to fill this out

  1. Measure each door in place with a metal tape — width and height to the nearest 1/16". Measure the width at the top AND at the bottom of the door and confirm they match. If they don't (some older hand-built kitchens aren't perfectly square), record the average of the two. Label the back of each door with masking tape so it doubles as a reference when the new doors arrive.
  2. Use the Name / Location column to describe each one (eg. "Upper sink — left", "Drawer bank 2 — top"). Use the Notes column for anything special (matching grain, glass insert, soft-close priority, etc.).
  3. Hinge cols #1–#5 = distance (in inches) from the TOP of the door to the centre of each hinge cup. Most doors only use #1 + #2. Leave hinge cols blank for new builds — we'll use standard positions (4" from top + 4" from bottom).
