Premium Veneer — the construction that matters.

Same wood species you've worked with for decades. Different construction. Solid wood edges that machine like lumber, a vacuum-pressed face, and no edge-banding seam at the corner where light catches the glue line.

    Vacuum-pressed veneer face

    Real wood veneer, vacuum-bonded to the substrate. No edge-banding seam at the front-face transition.

  2. 02

    Solid wood edge — sized to the door

    All four edges wrapped in solid wood — same species as the face. Typically 1/4" thick, but sized to the door style (e.g. an integrated-handle door needs about 1 3/4"). Machines, profiles and chamfers like real lumber.

  3. 03

    Particle-board core

    Industrial-grade core for dimensional stability and weight predictability. The same substrate the big factories use, finished better.

  4. 04

    Matching veneer back

    Veneer on the back face balances the panel — keeps it flat over the long haul.

Standard veneer doors are particle core + veneer face + edge-banding around all four edges — from $18/sq ft. Premium veneer wraps the core with solid wood on all four edges before the veneer face goes on — typically 1/4" thick, but sized to the door style (an integrated-handle door needs about 1 3/4"). Priming MDF doors is the slowest, most labour-heavy job in most spray rooms — two coats, sand between, do all six sides, wait for dry. We do it for you in our shop with Lorchem primer. You take the part straight to top-coat — no scuff sanding, no primer to buy, no days lost.

The questions every cabinet maker asks.

Yes — MDF doors are a daily product for us. We supply small and mid-size cabinet shops across Ontario when their CNC is busy or when they don't run a CNC at all. Sanded paint-ready or factory-primed, in any of our standard profiles (Shaker, Slim Shaker, Belmont, Flat Panel, Raised Panel, Integrated Handle).

Three situations cover most of it: (1) your CNC is booked solid and the job is bleeding into next week; (2) the client wants Premium Veneer and you don't have a vacuum press; (3) the run is small enough that the setup time isn't worth your shop's hourly rate. We're built for the work that doesn't pay you to do in-house.

Yes — grain-matching is a standard request from our cabinet-shop customers. We sequence-match the veneer from a single flitch where possible and lay out doors and drawer fronts so the grain runs continuously across a vertical stack or horizontal run. Send your drawings and tell us where the matched runs need to land.

Yes. PDFs, hand sketches, DXF, or a parts list pulled from your CAD. We'll convert it into our Order Review document with every piece tagged and dimensioned for your approval.

Standard is approximately two weeks (12 business days) from Order Review approval. If you have a hard install date, tell us up front — we can often re-sequence to make it work, especially on smaller MDF orders.

Yes — we drill for Blum, Hettich, Salice, and IKEA Utrusta hinges, including any of their dowel-pin variants. Tell us hinge brand, cup diameter, and placement from the top/bottom of the door, and we'll bore exactly to spec.

Both. Free pickup is available from our shop in Warsaw, Ontario (just outside Peterborough). Otherwise we ship Canada-wide using Canada Post, Manitoulin, CarPar and others depending on order size. Trade partners in the GTA, Kawartha and Ottawa regions often pick up.

Same wood species — different construction. Standard veneer is real wood face on a particle core with edge-banding around all four edges (from $18/sq ft). Premium veneer wraps the core with 1/4" of solid wood on all four edges, then a vacuum-pressed veneer face goes over top (from $46/sq ft). The premium edge machines and profiles like real lumber and won't show edge-banding glue lines.

We can mill up to 96" tall and 30" wide in MDF, but published warping tolerances scale with height and doors over 80" are sold no-warranty. For pantry stacks taller than 60", we usually recommend splitting into a two-door stack — better dimensional stability, easier install, fewer hinge concerns long-term.
