MDF AND WOOD VENEER DOORS, DRAWERS FRONTS, AND PANELS

Recessed Panel MDF

Recessed panel doors are a style that stands the test of time. Typically known as a Shaker style, we offer them with a range of inside and outside edge profiles that work well in many kitchen designs.

Raised Panel MDF

A one-piece raised panel door simulates a traditional-looking 5-piece cabinet door. A raised panel in the center, including a detailed profile around the perimeter and an inside profile, gives this door a classic look.

Flat panel MDF

Modern and contemporary kitchens are suited to flat panel doors. They can incorporate simple designs, such as tapered edges or a vertical line. They can also be used as toe kicks, end panels, and filler pieces.

Wood Veneer

Flat panel wood grain doors with wood edgebanding are ideal for staining or adding a clear coat. They are great for updating Ikea kitchen cabinets. We carry standard species of wood, and can order any other species you need.

Decorative Panels

Textured or patterned panels can be made to any size, and work great on walls and ceilings to add a featured design element to any room. We have a selection of styles available. Contact us for custom patterns.

Integrated Handle

Our new Integrated Handle door adds a refined modern look to any space. We use 1" MDF for these doors and drawer fronts. Hinges for thick cabinet doors are required for this style.

Angled Doors

Angled cabinet doors are a great solution for sloped ceilings or under stairwells. They can be made in many Recessed Panel, Flat Panel, Decorative, or Wood Veneer style. Simply choose the product you want, select Angled Door, and enter the measurements of the width, the left edge, and the right edge. The top edge will be determined by those measurements.

THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO CHOOSING THE RIGHT CABINET DOORS FOR YOUR KITCHEN

Your kitchen cabinets play a significant role in defining the overall look and feel of your kitchen. Not only do they provide essential storage space, but they also contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the room. When it comes to selecting cabinet doors for your kitchen, there are numerous factors to consider, from materials and styles to budget and personal preferences. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore the different types of cabinet doors available, their materials and styles, and provide tips on how to choose the best ones for your kitchen. Whether you prefer the classic elegance of raised panel doors or the sleek simplicity of slab doors, there's a perfect option out there to suit your style and budget. Invest in quality cabinet doors that will not only transform your kitchen but also stand the test of time.

Understanding Your Options

Before diving into the specifics of choosing cabinet doors, let's take a closer look at the various types available:

Raised Panel cabinet doors feature a center panel that is raised above the surrounding frame. This classic style adds depth and dimension to your cabinets and is available in a variety of profiles and designs. Can be made as a one piece or two piece door from MDF or as a 5 piece door using wood and MDF.

Recessed Panel  doors, also known as shaker style or flat panel doors , have a center panel that is inset into the surrounding frame. This sleek and contemporary style offers a clean and streamlined look that complements modern kitchen designs. Can be made as a one piece or two piece door from MDF or as a 5 piece door using wood and MDF.

Slab cabinet doors consist of a single, solid piece of material with no raised or recessed panels. This minimalist style is ideal for achieving a sleek, modern look and works well in both contemporary and transitional kitchens.

Wood Veneer cabinet doors feature a simple, clean design characterized by a recessed panel and square frame. This timeless style is versatile and can complement a wide range of kitchen aesthetics, from traditional to contemporary.

Materials Matter

When choosing cabinet doors for your kitchen, the material used plays a crucial role in both the appearance and durability of the cabinets. Here are some common materials to consider:

Wood remains a popular choice for cabinet doors due to its natural beauty and versatility. Hardwoods such as oak, maple, cherry, and walnut are durable and can be stained or painted to match your kitchen decor.

Wood Veneer is a popular choice for cabinet doors due to its flat wood grain panels that comes in a range of species such as rift cut white oak maple, cherry, and walnut. the panels have a particleboard core with wood edgebanding to match the veneer.

MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is an affordable alternative to solid wood that offers excellent stability and a smooth, uniform surface for painting. It's a popular choice for painted cabinet doors and is available in various styles and finishes. We use Plum Creek MDF for our doors which is the premium brand of MDF.

Thermofoil cabinet doors are constructed from a thin layer of vinyl or laminate wrapped around a substrate material. They are highly durable, easy to clean, and come in a wide range of colors and finishes.

Laminate cabinet doors consist of a layer of laminate bonded to a substrate material such as MDF or particleboard. They are available in an extensive array of colors, patterns, and textures, making them a versatile option for modern kitchens.

Choosing the Right Style

The style of your cabinet doors should complement the overall design aesthetic of your kitchen. Consider the following factors when selecting the right style:

Kitchen Design: Take cues from the style of your kitchen when choosing cabinet doors. For example, a traditional kitchen may benefit from classic raised panel doors, while a modern kitchen might pair well with sleek slab doors.

Personal Preferences: Consider your personal taste and preferences when selecting cabinet door styles. Whether you prefer a timeless, classic look or a more contemporary and streamlined design, choose cabinet doors that resonate with your style.

Budget: Your budget will also play a significant role in determining the style of cabinet doors you choose. While solid wood doors may offer unparalleled beauty and durability, they can also come with a higher price tag. Consider more budget-friendly options such as MDF or laminate if cost is a concern.

Tips for Selection

Here are some additional tips to keep in mind when choosing cabinet doors for your kitchen:

Consider Functionality - Think about how you use your kitchen and choose cabinet doors that meet your functional needs. For example, consider opting for soft-close hinges for added convenience and durability.

Sample Before Committing - Before making a final decision, request samples of different cabinet door materials and finishes to see how they look in your kitchen space. This will help you visualize the final result and ensure that you're happy with your choice.

Seek Professional Advice - If you're unsure about which cabinet doors to choose, don't hesitate to seek advice from kitchen design professionals. They can offer valuable insights and recommendations based on your specific needs and preferences.

Plan for the Future - Keep in mind that kitchen trends may change over time, so choose cabinet doors that will stand the test of time and remain timeless in appearance. Opting for classic styles and durable materials can help ensure that your cabinets remain stylish and functional for years to come.

Customer reviews
Brad did a great job on our custom unfinished MDF doors. He even gave me a chance to correct my mistake before starting my order. The doors were ready earlier than originally promised and where packaged for transportation when I picked them up. He recommended the primer and paint that I should use and the results are amazing. The doors fit perfectly and where exactly as I ordered. I proudly show pictures of the doors to anyone that is doing a renovation and is in the market for new cabinet doors. I will definitely use him and Ready-to-Paint Cabinet Doors again.

The team at Ready to Paint provided amazing and prompt service. I was looking for an economical way to update my current kitchen doors and was happy to find that Ready to Paint provided this, without compromising on quality. I am thrilled with the new look. They truly care about their customers and craftsmanship. Would 100% recommend!

Our kitchen/dining room renovation started with removing the non weight bearing wall between the the two rooms to have a open concept. Now instead of a wall between the kitchen and dining room we have peninsula that divides the rooms. By using some of the old cabinets I was able to build the peninsula but was short three doors. I contacted “readytopaintcabinetdoors” and was able to get 3 Raised panel MDF doors that matched our existing kitchen doors exactly even though the original cabinets were about 24 years old. The new doors fit perfectly and millwork was excellent.

Just want to give a thumbs up to the staff at “Varcroft & Bianco” for the excellent service and courteous interactions I received when ordering. The cabinet doors I was looking for had to be custom made to match the new vanity I put in my laundry room. After discussions with the staff, this was no problem, with a minimal charge. After completing the order, shipping was fast to Nova Scotia, at again a minimal charge. I normally do not write reviews, but felt after there prompt service and quality workmanship, recommendations on painting them, I needed to say thank you for all your help.
