The Order Setup Fee of $65 covers the time spent programming your order and creating the Order Review. (See the Ordering section below for more information about the Order Review.)

If you are ordering only one door, please make sure you refresh your cart before proceeding to payment to make sure the Order Setup fee is applied.

What is the Handling and Packaging Fee?

The Handling and Packaging fee covers the cost of materials and labour required to package your order for safe transport. This fee varies depending on the value of your order:

- $30 for orders of less than $200

- $40 for orders between $200-$500

How much will it cost to ship my order?

Depending on the size and of your order, we will ship with one of several carriers (Canada Post, Manitoulin, CarPar, etc). Doors can be packaged in boxes, sandwiched between thick cardboard, or packed in a crate on a pallet. The cost is based on a percentage of the total shopping cart.

For shipments in Central Canada:

- orders of under $200 are charged 24%

- orders over $200 are charged 18%

For shipments in Eastern Canada:

- orders under $200 are charged 24%

- orders over $200 are charged 20%

For shipments in Western Canada:

- orders under $200 are charged 24%

- orders over $200 are charged 20%

For oversized items (for example, a large panel or a long toe kick) or locations where carriers charge a premium, (i.e.: busy city centers or remote locations), the shipping fee will be based on carrier's best available rates. Within 48 hrs of your order being placed, we reserve the right to contact you with an adjusted shipping charge and at that point you can decide to cancel the order with no penalty.

How long will it take to get my order?

Cabinet doors will be made within 2 weeks of the Order Review being approved.  Delivery time varies depending on your location, and will range from 1-7 days.

Where do you deliver to?

We ship our products across North America using various shipping companies. You can also pick up your order for free from our shop. Visit the Contact page for our address.

Unfortunately, we cannot ship our products overseas.

How is the product packaged for shipping?

We have 3 packaging methods depending on the size of the order. For large orders we build a crate from plywood remnants, cover sheets and reclaimed pallets. Medium sized orders with doors smaller than 35" x 23" get packaged in boxes with anywhere from 3 to 12 doors/drawer fronts per box. Larger doors, panels and single doors are packaged between two layers of 1/4" cardboard.

What is a 1-piece door?

A one-piece door is made from MDF and all the details are routed out of one panel.  The advantage to this is that there is never a chance of cracking.

What is a 2-piece door?

A two-piece door is typically made from MDF and has a single solid outer piece instead of 4 separate pieces surrounding a center panel.  The advantage is that it’s less likely to  crack when painted, and it gives the option of more elaborate tooling than a one-piece door.

What is a 5-piece door?

A five-piece door is a traditional wood kitchen cabinet door with 2 rails, 2 stiles, and a center panel.  These are typically made from solid wood. The disadvantage of this style of door would be that, when painted, it can tend to show cracks over time.

What are rails and stiles?

On a traditional five-piece door, the rails are the top and bottom pieces of the door and the stiles are the side pieces.

What is grain matching?

Grain matching is a technique used when finishing a kitchen with flat panel wood veneer doors. The grain will match from cabinet to cabinet. To achieve this, you will have to upload a reference picture so that we can see the elevation views of the cabinets and know how to match up the various doors and drawer faces.

Can I get a door with an angled top?

Choose the style of door that you want, and select either "Angled Left" or "Angled Right" under "Door Type."

Enter the dimensions you need for the left and right sides and the bottom edge (we will calculate the angle and length of the top edge for you). Make your selections for the remaining details, and add to cart.

Please note that not all door styles are available in an angled option.

What is pocketing?

You can pocket (rout a recessed area into) the back of a door for aesthetic reasons, as it makes the inside of the door resemble a traditional 5-piece door. Pocketing can also prevent warping on larger doors.

Finishing – Paint & Stain

How should I finish the doors?

Our doors are ready to be finished with a paint or stain of your choice. If painting, we recommend using two coats of primer and one coat of colour. Talk to your local paint shop for advice on cabinet paint.

Do I need to sand the doors?

Although your product is sanded before we ship it to you, it’s best to go over the doors with a 400 grit sanding block before finishing to ensure optimal results.

How many hinges do I need?

For hinges with dowels, we drill a 35mm hole with two 10mm holes for the dowels. For hinges without dowels, we drill only a 35mm hole.

Hinge holes are normally drilled 4″ from the top and bottom of the doors. If a door is over 40″ tall, we recommend a third hinge in the center. Over 65″, a fourth hinge is required, and over 90″, a fifth hinge is used to ensure smooth operation. You can specify the type of hinge and the location of the hinge holes in the ordering module.

What type of hinges should I use?

We can drill for Blum, Hettich or Salice hinges, which are all good quality brands. Check if your local hardware store carries any of them or order them online.

How much do you charge for drilling for hinges?

We charge $4 per hinge.

What type of MDF do you use?

We use Plum Creek MDF, which is a premium super-refined MDF that mills and finishes better than most MDFs on the market.

What species of wood veneer cabinet doors do you make?

Standard species include maple, white oak, birch, walnut, ash, and pine. We have access to many other wood veneers, such as sapele, hickory, alder, and most other species.  Contact us if you are looking for something specific.

Can I get an MDF door with a melamine back?

Yes, we can supply your doors with a flat white melamine back.

What types of material can you cut?

We cut MDF and wood veneer doors. We can cut melamine doors or make wooden 5-piece doors on request.

How should I measure my doors?

Using a tape measure, measure the width and the height of the door. It is a good idea to create a quick sketch of the kitchen and number each door/drawer front, then work through each one and write down the measurements.

Should I measure my doors using imperial or metric?

Our site is currently set up for entering imperial measurements with fractions.

How can I place an order for multiple doors?

After entering the information for the first door and adding it to the cart, use the Back button in your browser to return to the previous page. Make any necessary adjustments for the next door, then click ADD TO CART again.

How do I open an account?

Do you have an in-store display that I can visit before I place an order?

How do I confirm that my order is correct?

Before your order goes into production, we will send you an Order Review, which is a document that shows all of the doors in your order in detail, giving you the chance to make any necessary adjustments before we begin making your doors. We will not proceed with manufacturing until you have confirmed that the details shown in the Order Review are correct.

How can I pay for my order?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, or Debit for online orders. Your payment will be processed by Shopify.

Can I resell your products?

Yes. Feel free to contact us for more information.
